How to classify and treat industrial wastewater treatment

23 Aug, 2024 8:43am

Industrial wastewater mostly comes from heavy industries such as smelters and chemical plants, and these wastewater contain a lot of harmful substances. If this wastewater is allowed to enter fields and water sources that people usually use along rivers, it will cause great harm to people's lives and property. However, we also know that industrial wastewater is an inevitable industrial waste generated in the heavy industry industry. Therefore, we need to learn how to classify and treat industrial wastewater reasonably. There are seven basic principles for industrial wastewater treatment. Due to the significant impact of industrial wastewater on the environment and the difficulty of treatment, some basic principles should be followed in production and treatment.

Roughly summarized as the following 7 points:

1. Prioritize the use of non-toxic production processes to replace or reform outdated production processes, while avoiding or reducing the generation of toxic and harmful wastewater.

During the use of toxic raw materials, strict operation and supervision should be carried out to eliminate dripping and reduce loss.

Wastewater containing highly toxic substances should be separated from other wastewater for the treatment and recovery of useful substances.

4. Wastewater with large flow but light pollution should be treated and recycled appropriately, and should not be discharged into sewers.

Organic wastewater similar to urban sewage can be discharged into the urban sewage system for treatment.

6. Some toxic wastewater that can be biodegraded should be discharged into urban sewers according to allowable discharge standards, and then undergo further biochemical treatment.

7. Toxic wastewater that is difficult to biodegrade should be treated separately and should not be discharged into urban sewers. The development trend of industrial wastewater treatment is to recycle wastewater and pollutants as useful resources or implement closed-loop circulation.

Now we know the above 7 classification methods for industrial wastewater treatment, but in fact, there are more methods for industrial wastewater treatment than just these. Nowadays, people's attention to environmental protection and health is increasing, so the technology in wastewater treatment will also become more and more advanced.
